GIRIA Shelf

€1000.00

GIRIA Flower Lamp draws inspiration from the Lithuanian koplytstulpis - a traditional wooden pillar topped with a small shrine and ornamental carvings. Its sculptural form reflects on rural domestic culture, decorative traditions, and the forest’s role in shaping Lithuanian identity.

The lamp features a bark-based biocomposite developed by Evelina Kudabaitė. Discarded sawmill bark is ground into powder, mixed with a self-made natural binder, and shaped by hand. Over several weeks of drying, the material subtly shifts before hardening into a tactile, ceramic-like surface, making each piece unique. Bringing experimental material processes into dialogue with inherited craft traditions, GIRIA explores what we can create from fragments of cultural memory.

Size: 34cm x 15cm , 1.2kg

Materials: GIRIA Biocomposite (tree bark powders, self-made bioplastic), ash wood, reused steel base.

Tree barks are sourced from locally harvested Lithuanian forest.
