This pendant is part of “GIRIA tree bark objects” collection.
GIRIA in Lithuanian means an old-growth forest that has attained great age without significant disturbance.
The designer’s goal for this project was to evoke the sensations of the forest through the materials, textures, and colors used. This approach fosters a closer connection between the user, the object, and nature.
Bark waste from local sawmills is repurposed to create new organic materials, incorporating different types of tree bark and leaf powder pigments. This results in sustainable and valuable products.
Raw and textured surface of a lampshade is accompanied with a matte brushed brass tube. Each lamp is made by hand and is one-of-a-kind.
